Cake

I just discovered today that King's Hawaiian does wedding cakes, and for super cheap!

One of my friends had a birthday cake from king's hawaiian and it was one of the best things in the world.

Escort Cards/Guest Book

Going off the escort card tree I'm doing, I was thinking of using the escort cards also for the guest book.
Have the front of the escort cards with the guest name and a feather stamp, and on the back they can write their wishes.

More Hair

I absolutely love this style. When I take the veil off after the reception, I was thinking of putting something like this in my hair as well. Im leaning more towards one of my Grandmother's brooches though.

Hair Ideas

Im pretty much leaving my hair up to my hair stylist, since she is so amazingly talented. But here are some ideas I have for it.

THE shoes!

My MOH Jenn and I went shopping all day today on the quest for bridesmaid dresses. We ended up at South Coast all day and while shopping at Macy's we found these babies! They are like the cheaper/flat version of the Vivienne Westwood for Melissa shoes! My heart pretty much melted when I saw these. Now to decide if I want them in black or red. The "red" shoe shown in not actually red, but orange. The red they carry is a deep red.

Cake

Even though we are doing tiramisu for our dessert, I wanted to do a small wedding cake for the traditional aspect. I love this cake so much, so simple and clean but oh so elegant at the same time. I would probably only do two small tiers though and not a large cake like this one since we are serving a different dessert as well. Finding a cute owl cake topper would make this cake perfect.

Dance Floor

Depending on the weather, I may need to do tents for everything. But for now I at least want a big tent for the dance floor. Chase had the idea of hanging black antique chandeliers in the tent which would look amazing. Now its just a matter of fitting the ceremony, reception and dance floor all in the same area with still plenty of room for all the guests.

Photographer

I have spent countless hours over these past few months researching wedding photographers. I wanted a photographer with an artistic flair but still capture some of the traditional moments in the wedding. The photographers I have found that I love are always out of my price range and of course the photographers that are in my price range all seemed too amateur. On a random wedding search one day, I came across this guy's website. I instantly fell in love with his photography, so Chase and I agreed to book him.

This Year

On a not so wedding topic, can I just say how excited I am for this year. Even though 2010 started off pretty rough for me getting laid off the very first day of the year, it has completely worked out for the better. Being my last semester EVER of college, these past few months have been absolutely insane for me with the amount of work my classes are demanding. There would be now way I could hold a full time job, full time school schedule and plan this wedding.
This year is going to be all about celebrating. This month Chase and I get to celebrate our 5 year anniversary, which will be the last time ever celebrating this date since our wedding date will be our new anniversary. In April I will be celebrating my 25th birthday and Chase his 27th. In May I will be GRADUATING!!! Sooooo excited for this. My mom is also planning a graduation party for all my friends and family. Over the summer and fall I will be celebrating with my girls for my bachelorette and bridal shower. November 13th I will be marrying the love of my life then leaving for over a week to Maui. 2010 is going to be one amazing year.

Tables

Staying with the natural aspect behind my wedding scheme, I wanted my tables and chairs to blend in well with everything else. I love the look of the wood chairs and the light brown tablecloths. Just no table runners for me. For the very few that have seen Barbara's backyard, I was going to line up all the tables underneath the wrap around balcony so I can hang tons of string lights right underneath the balcony so it gives off a nice glow to all the tables.

Favors

For our wedding favors I wanted to do something fun & edible so that all my guests could enjoy the favor. Caramel apples fit into our fall wedding perfectly and if I do the red candy coating they match my wedding colors. It's the little things in life that make me oh so happy.

Honeymoon

After much debate we finally figured where to take our honeymoon, on the beautiful island of Maui. On a random search of hotels in Maui, I found this amazing boutique hotel in Wailea. Sooo excited! I have never been to any of the islands so it will be a brand new adventure for me. The best part of this hotel is that it was built to cater to the japanese businessmen, so they have an amazing traditional japanese bathhouse/spa on the property.

Grand Exit

For our grand exit, I really didn't want things thrown at me or deal with the mess rice/flowers would create, so I thought sparklers would be perfect. Plus the pictures I have seen with the couple running through a row of sparklers creates such an awesome photo. Kinda reminds me of the Great Gatsby for some reason.

Front Door

Since we are doing a backyard wedding at Chase's grandmother's house, I need to find a way to spruce up the front doors to make the whole house seem like a wedding venue. I thought these front door wreaths were an adorable way to greet the guests.
** Ignore the weird vase, Chase always gets freaked out thinking that is what I want to do

Flowers

Not wanting to go with the whole cliche red roses, but wanting to stay with red flowers since my wedding colors are red/brown, I finally found the perfect flowers. Love these so much and they seem to fit well with the whole antique theme I have going. White flowers for my bridesmaids and the red for me.

Hoot!

My love for owls pretty much inspired my whole wedding. Centerpieces for the tables are going to be antique bird cages filled with candles and flowers. Table markers are either going to be a variations of birds or all owls, since my little owls need to be incorporated somehow in my wedding.

Escort Cards

Now that I have finally figured out my wedding theme of birds/fall branches I can use this idea I found awhile ago for the escort cards.

Shoes!

Now that I have my wedding dress, I have been on a hunt for the perfect shoes. Husband to be is exactly my height, so it has been challenging to find a pair of flats that I would want to wear. My current obsession with wedding blogs brought me upon these amazing pair of shoes. They came out Spring 2009 and in limited quantities, so pretty much impossible to find now especially in white. I MUST find these though. Best part they are only a 2.5" heel!

Ideas

Finally started a blog to put together all my wedding ideas.
I have been OBSESSED with this wedding when I found the photos on JessicaClaire.net. I am so in love with this dress, so delicate and gorgeous.
